What the Cluck?

Elinor here. Writing this from my hammock on this sweltering hot Tuesday. Not that I'm complaining; it sure beats the snow. I feel like Montrealers complain when it's too cold in the winter, then complain when it's too hot in the summer.

So I was looking at the Think Before You Pink website because i always find that they narrow in on all the hilarious pink products floating around these days. One of the campaigns they have going is called 'What the Cluck?' And it urges people to write into KFC about the absurdity of their 'Pink' buckets that KFC/the Susan G. Komen Foundation has nicknamed 'Buckets for the Cure.'

Think I'm making this up?

I think they took the hint because the URL doesn't work anymore. I just wanted to show you how far and what ridiculous reaches the pinkwashers will go to pimp out breast cancer.

So try and stay cool but if you're out in the sun--don't forget sunscreen! And go to the skin deep database to find out which sunscreen brands are best for you. You don't want the very thing protecting you from UV Rays to also be full of toxic chemicals now do you? I use the Johnson & Johnson baby sunscreen which scores a 2 on the overall ranking (which is really good compared to some of those other brands).

Keep being awesome,
